Workshopping

Description:

A short introduction to the art of the workshop. Writer’s groups can too often kill with vague encouragement, or crush with equally unfocused criticism. We’ll learn how to give structured, rigorous feedback in a constructive way, including my Workshop Sins and Smarts. Bring your outline, short story or novel first chapter, and find out how to improve it.

Suitable for:

Beginners or improving writers, with a piece of work to develop in the workshop process. Anyone looking to set up a successful writing group, or to hone their development skills.

Type of writing:

Structured feedback on student writing (eg short story, first chapter of a novel, film outline).

Commitment:

3 x 60 minutes live classes.
